In April 2003, initiated PDF sales of 500+ books; now up to 850+, after
real-time experiment regarding price points, cannibalization risks,
etc.
Preliminary Evidence:
- PDF sales accounting for a relatively small percentage of overall sales revenue
- Experiment indicated that if PDF were free 44% of book buyers
would be likely to take PDF and not buy print,
- 11-15% for sure (from experimental data)
- Experiment indicated only small # want both; reality is that PDF
bundles are most popular PDF sales approach
